KAANP: Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office Annex

서울중앙지방검찰청 별관을 디자인하는데 중요한 이슈가 된 것은 현존하는 검찰정과 조화를 이루면서 동시에 검찰정의 새로운 이미지를 부각하는 것이었다.

One of the key issues for designing a new annex for the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office was creating a design that can harmonize with the original context of the existing building and yet also bring a fresh image of the Prosector's office.

별관을 2개의 동으로 설계하고 한 동은 기존의 건물과 연결시키게 하고, 도로를 면하는 다른 한 동은 커튼월을 설치하여 열린 검찰청의 새로운 이미지를 부각시켰다. 또한 건물 가운데 설치한 중정은 자연 채광과 환기를 제공하게 하였고, 옥상에는 정원을 만들어 이용자들에게 휴식할 수 있는 공간을 마련하였다.

The annex was design with two buildings one to connect with the existing building and another building with curtain wall facade bring a new image of a friendly open prosecutor's office. A large atrium was placed in center of building to bring in nature light and ventilation to the office and the roof garden were a pleasant addition the complex as place to getaway and relax.
